Work Item Overview

A work item is something that needs to get done. Some examples of work items are: Task, Project, Milestone, and Support Ticket. You can create your own custom work item types. For example, you could create one called "Sprint" to manage an Agile team. Or, you might create one called User Story, Job, or Project Phase. In short, you can build custom work item types that match the specific needs of your organization.

Work Items can include the following information:

  1. Start & End Dates
  2. Assignees
  3. Priority Level
  4. Custom Fields
  5. Files
  6. Checklists
  7. Budgets (Financial and Time Budgets)

Work items can also be:

  1. Public or Private
  2. Billable (Fixed Fee or Time & Materials)
  3. Invoiced
  4. Nested inside of other work item
  5. Dependent on other work items
