Client Portal

Client portals provide a way for you to give your customers access to certain information in Ravetree. Client access is free, and you can add as many clients as you need. There are four things that clients can see in their client portal:

  1. Work items (e.g., Projects) you have shared with them
  2. Work items you have assigned to them
  3. Files you have given them access to (files must be associated with one of the above work items)
  4. Submit request forms

Creating Client Portals

To create a new client portal go to the Amin page, then click on "Client Portals" on the left menu:

Next, click on the blue "+ Client Portal" button in the upper right. This will open the setup modal for the client portal. NOTE: the client that you want to add to the client portal must be added first as a "Contact" in Ravetree. And, the contact must have an email address. This is the email address they will use to sign in to the client portal.

After adding the Contacts, make sure to select the email address for that client. If the client only has one email address on their contact record, then it will be selected by default.

The final step is to click the blue "+" button to add work items to the client portal. These are the work items that your client will have access to. Make sure you select the permissions you want the client to have for each work item.

Client portal setup

Clients log in through the same login page as you, but they are directed to an isolated and secure client portal—not your Ravetree account. This prevents the possibility that they could see information you don't want them to see. Below is an example of what the client may see in the client portal.

Client Comments

You have the ability to control if comments are visible to clients. For example, if you have given a client access to the work item shown below, then you can make the comment visible to the client (in their client portal), but clicking on the lock icon:

After you "Send" the comment you can see if it is visible to clients in the client portal:

Troubleshooting

If you don't see the "Client Portals" tab on the left menu (on the Admin page), then it means you don't have permission. Make sure that the permission role assigned to you has these permissions checked:
